Earlier this autumn, Luleå University of Technology was granted funding of SEK 41.1 million from Riksbankens Jubileumsfond for a research programme on historical land conflicts in northern Sweden. This is the first time that Luleå University of Technology, and the Division of Social Sciences, is granted an RJ program. The Arctic Six collaboration program Arctic Six Chairs has contributed to this success.

Nord University has become the new member of the Arctic Six alliance. This will add more capacity to the alliance to find solutions to challenges that Scandinavian countries face in the Arctic.

On 2 – 3 October, Luleå University of Technology hosted a symposium for the Arctic Five, where the members welcomed the newly appointed chairs, who also presented their research projects.
