Aim and questions

• Advance scientific understanding of the pattern, and underlying drivers, of carbon allocation and cycling in northern forests
• Start with a network across Fennoscandia, with the longer-term goal to extend the network globally
• How does carbon uptake and allocation vary across different northern forests?
• What ecological and climatic factors regulate northern forest carbon allocation and storage?
• How and why does northern forest carbon allocation change seasonally and year to year?
